About this Event
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is marking a new era in education, generating both enthusiasm and questions about its impact on the teaching and learning process. In education, one of the areas most sensitive to technological change, AI represents not only a powerful tool, but also an opportunity to rethink traditional paradigms. The use of AI in the classroom has the potential to personalize education, adapting to the needs and learning styles of each student. Systems such as intelligent tutors or adaptive learning platforms make it possible to offer more inclusive and effective educational experiences. However, these advances also raise questions aboutthe role of the teacher in an environment where technology takes on traditionally human functions. In addition, the integration of AI in education presents ethical and social challenges. Privacy of student data, equitable access to these tools, and the potential dehumanization of the educational process are issues that cannot be ignored. Beyond adopting these technologies, it is critical to reflect on how to implement them in an ethical manner, ensuring that they foster learning and human development rather than replace it. In the context of Incarnate Word University, the commitment to the integral formation of students demands that the incorporation of AI in education be aligned with values such as empathy, justice and social responsibility. Therefore, beyond teaching the use of these technologies, we must teach how to use them with awareness, preparing students not only to be AI users, but to become leaders in their ethical and responsible application. This talk invites the educational community to rethink the future of teaching in the age of artificial intelligence, highlighting the importance of a human approach that balances technological advancement with the universal values that underpin education.
