In observance of Parkinson’s Awareness Month, we are thrilled to announce an empowering event brought to you by UIW Health Professions and the Parkinson’s Foundation: MOVING DAY. Join us at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Benson Stadium. Registration opens at 8:30 am. We extend a warm invitation to individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, as well as their supportive network of friends and family, to seize this unique opportunity for empowerment and wellness. Together, let's embrace movement, wellness, and community at MOVING DAY. 

MOVING DAY promises a dynamic experience featuring guided warm-ups, an invigorating boxing session, and exercises aimed at fostering mobility and vitality. Attendees will have the opportunity to benefit from complimentary balance and fall risk screenings, courtesy of UIW’s Health Professions team (Athletic Training, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy specialists.)

Our comprehensive screenings encompass vital health assessments, including blood pressure monitoring, and medication evaluations to mitigate fall risks. Participants will also receive personalized insights into optimizing home safety and receive quick balance assessments, all at no cost.
