Dr. Karen Jaceldo-Siegl, Associate Professor of Public Health, at UIWSOM, with support from the Ettling Center for Civic Leadership & Sustainability, will be leading a medical mission to Carigara, Leyte, Philippines and surrounding areas. This inaugural mission-driven program provides a unique opportunity for participating students and faculty to deliver health care services to those with limited resources and gain clinical and public health skills in challenging environments alongside local and volunteer medical and health professionals. The medical mission will take you to rural communities in Carigara, Palompon, and Limon. You will experience the local culture and take excursions to a local farm and Kalangaman Island. This medical mission program does not complement a class.

For additional information, email Dr. Jaceldo-Siegl.

The total estimated cost of $2,800 will be the responsibility of each participant. Deadlines: Mar 20, $2,000 for airfare; Apr 20, $800. Payments are accepted via UIW’s CashNet.
