Ann David
Associate Professor
Dr. Ann D. David is a Professor in Teacher Education, where she prepares future teachers from SMSE and CHASS. She’s the Director of QEP Faculty Development and facilitates the Reading Academies for UIW faculty. Her research focuses on the teaching of writing and the impacts of censorship on K-12 teachers and students. Her recent edited collection, When Teaching Writing Gets Tough, was published by Teachers College Press. Finally, she serves as the lead editor on Impacts of Censorship, a series of special issues featuring research on censorship published by the National Council of Teachers of English.
Mariannella Núñez
Assistant Professor
Dr. Mariannella Núñez is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education in the Dreeben School of Education. She has experience teaching in elementary bilingual and ESL settings, focusing literacy and biliteracy instruction. Dr. Núñez’s research interests are guided by sociocritical perspectives and are driven by a desire to amplify the stories of historically marginalized and minoritized communities. Through her scholarship and service, she emphasizes the languages and literacies of these communities as strengths, aiming to provide new perspectives and tools for both in-service and pre-service educators to create transformative classrooms.
